Becoming the Parent you WANT to be

Bogged down by the thoughts that you are not the parent you want to be – or thought you would become…? Do you struggle with reaching your child on the spectrum? Do feelings of guilt, shame, remorse and confusion fill what should be joyous moments with your child? In this 90 minute workshop you will learn new strategies, mindsets and ways of connecting, guiding and supporting your child on the spectrum. Sharing stories of his own parenting struggles, Alan will leave you feeling a new sense of hope, direction and possibility for your child.

A Child Left Behind - Living with Autism performance

A full-fledged production of Alan’s critically-acclaimed solo play – the piece that the LA Times called, “COMPELLING… A FIRST RATE EDUCATION” can be brought to your theater, auditorium, fund-raising event or student benefit. With a unique ability to be produced in either a full-scale theatrical production or a more simple non-tech setting, this unique and powerful piece of theater has been seen Off-Broadway, at various regional theaters, College auditoriums and Mental-Health centers across the country.

Revolutionize Your Classroom

The Patriots of the Revolutionary War faced a seemingly unbeatable foe but emerged victorious despite limited resources, support and seemingly insurmountable odds…. Taking a page from the Founding Fathers, Alan’s workshop takes a revolutionary approach to setting your classroom, managing it and leading your “Troops” to victory. Based on lessons from Alan’s critically-acclaimed book, “Fighting the Good Fight”, Revolutionizing Your Classroom is a perfect opportunity to learn new skills, sharpen current ones and refuel your educator’s soul to enter the educational battlefield committed to victory. A fun, interactive and extremely supportive approach to setting yourself up for success this upcoming school year or even change the direction that your current classroom is taking.

A Child Left Behind - Reaching Your Students on the Spectrum

The challenges of public school teaching are many – and historic: lack of resources, district bureaucracy and the growing disconnect between children today and what public education was envisioned to be, however, one challenge that is not historic but just as important and challenging is working with our students on the spectrum. Based on his critically-acclaimed solo play, A Child Left Behind: a Spectrum Education, Alan talks honestly about the challenges of being a teacher – and parent to children on the spectrum. This 90 minute workshop offers practical solutions, approaches and ideas in how to best support those students on the autism spectrum. Participants (and parents) have left this workshop feeling empowered, inspired and ready to reach those neuro-diverse learners.
